The Diamond Rackets (Ghana’s Tennis Team) participated in the Billie Jean King Cup tournament held at the Nairobi Club in Kenya from 12th to 17th June, 2023. Ghana was represented by Sisu Tomegah and Elisabeth Bagerbaseh.
H.E Damptey Bediako Asare, Ghana’s High Commissioner to Kenya visited the team to encourage them and also used the opportunity to present some food items to them during their preparation to play against their Mauritius counterparts in the day three of the Africa Group III of the tournament.
The Diamond Rackets made it to the final deciding match which ended in a 6-1 victory for Ghana to accrue the 2-1 maximum scoreline against Mauritius.
H.E Asare was accompanied by Mr. Kofi Oduro-Kwarten and Ms. Akosua Gyamerah, both officials of the Ghana High Commission in Kenya.
