Mrs. Samira Bawumia, Second Lady of the Republic of Ghana participated in a Clean Cooking Alliance (CCA) event on the side-lines of the Africa Climate Summit in Nairobi, Kenya.

She delivered the keynote address on the third day of the event at the High-Level Dialogue on “Women and Girls Leading Climate Action” as part of the inaugural Africa Climate Summit/week hosted by the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Kenya.

Mrs. Bawumia highlighted the key roles women and girls play in the climate change conversation, and proposed solutions and changes needed to alter the status quo.

She opined that climate change, health, women's empowerment, girl child education, and community well-being are interconnected threads and must be addressed with a comprehensive strategy.
